The Virtual Water Cooler Conversations
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Join us at the virtual water cooler! Bring the burning questions about virtual work you want to discuss with your colleagues.
Session Date: October 15, 2020
10:00am-11:30am Pacific Time
On Thursday, October 15 from 10:00am until 11:30am Pacific Daylight Time, the STS Roundtable hosted an opportunity to gather and talk with colleagues about issues that are important to us.
This time, as we gathered around the virtual water cooler, our colleague Wilts Alexander led the discussion about “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion”, and helped us explore some burning questions about the challenges of making DE&I efforts sustainable in organizations. Why haven’t our efforts been sustainable over time? How do we value our diversity? Are we just checking boxes and forgetting what we know about creating lasting change? How can we improve our approaches to generate lasting transformation?
To get the conversation started, Wilts helped us look at the question from a systemic perspective, considering what we know of design principles and applying those to embedding DEI in the DNA of organizations. Wilts Alexander serves as host, and Pam Posey and Pete Sorenson will help facilitate the conversation.
