    • Thursday, 23 July, 2026 – led by Caitlin Begg —‘’Designing a Sociotechnical Future‘’.

What does designing a sociotechnical future entail? How can we think about jointly optimizing the social and the technical within the workplace, everyday life, and relationships? In this session, Caitlin Begg helps us explore these questions. Caitlin Begg is a sociologist and the founder of Authentic Social, an applied research lab at the intersection of sociology and technology. Her work and research focuses on technology’s effect on communication and interpersonal relationships; workplace design; and AI.

This event is for people interested in understanding applications of sociotechnical design within the workplace and everyday life. Participants will learn about Caitlin’s Four Principles of Sociotechnical Design (which she presented at the 7th Nordic STS at Stockholm University in June 2025 and has applied in many engagements with Authentic Social). Attendees will also walk away with a broader understanding of the socio-philosophical reasons sociotechnical design and thinking is so important in today’s world.

Come join us to learn more.
