Peter Jay Sorenson
Pete previously served on the Stewards’ Team in 2004 – 2006 when the Roundtable was resuscitated and incorporated under the leadership of Doug Gamble and Pam Posey. He has served on Conference Design Teams and other working teams for over 20 years.
Pete’s independent organization design consulting practice is called Strategic Organization Design. He designed organizations for over 40 years as a manager and internal and external consultant.
He is a part time adjunct instructor in the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University in masters degree programs.
Pete has done “boots-on-the-ground” humanitarian work in developing countries. These experiences have profoundly influenced Pete’s perspectives for designing ecosystems, supply chains, and organizations that fit and function in their global contexts.
In his design work Pete attempts to use a contextualized ecosystem perspective. He finds it helpful to keep technology, innovation, people, culture, and entrepreneurship in mind as stakeholders design and bring to life the business models for their organizations.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in the Interdisciplinary Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington (1976) and his Master’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University (1979).
